We need education too
We estimate that 1 in 10 children in Africa, that’s up to 52 million children, are living with disability. We believe that most of them are not completing primary school and we think that it is time for committed and widespread action on this issue from governments and NGOs.
We produced a booklet detailing our policy on disabled children and their right to an inclusive education in 2008 which you can download here: We need education too
On 22nd March 2011 we launched a review of the state of disabled children’s access to education in Africa at the House of Commons. The event was a great success in helping to raise awareness amongst International NGOs and the UK government.
